The parish choir of around 25 members rehearses every Wednesday night and sings at the Sunday 10:30 liturgy and holidays. They are accompanied by organ and/or piano and sometimes extra instruments, such as trumpets, clarinet, and flute.
The Celebration choir currently consists of about 14 members and includes guitars and a soprano sax player along with piano accompaniment. They rehearse on Saturdays at 3:15 and sing for the Saturday 5:00 p.m. liturgy. They also sing for the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Children’s liturgy as well as combining with the Sunday choir for Christmas Eve 10:00 p.m. and Triduum liturgies.
Hand Bell Choir
The hand bell choir practices on Monday evenings and plays about once a month at a liturgy chosen by the players. They also play at the 10:00 p.m. Christmas Eve liturgy and at Triduum liturgies.
Any instrument is welcome at St. Thomas! We currently have trumpets and other brass instruments, such as trombone and baritone and tuba, and these musicians play more at holidays such as Christmas and Easter, Feast of Christ the King, and Pentecost. Soprano sax, violin, clarinet and flute are used more often. Other instruments are welcome!
The children’s choir typically sings at the 4:00 p.m. liturgy on Christmas Eve, and all children from the parish are welcome! The children also sing from time to time at the Worship Alive liturgies which are once a month at the Sunday 10:30 Mass.
The funeral choir consists of choir members and other retired folks from the parish who are free to gather and sing at parish funerals.
