Pastoral Care & Wellness Commission
St. Thomas Aquinas is committed to a caring and compassionate response to others in times of need such as illness, death, or other times of crisis. The Pastoral Care and Wellness Commission seeks to promote wellness of Body, Mind, and Spirit through education and opportunities to live healthy lifestyles, thus sharing in the healing ministries of Jesus Christ. We meet the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm in the Parish Activities Building.
If you are interested in being part of this Commission or would like more information, please contact the Parish Office at 651-459-2131.
HOSPITAL VISITING & PASTORAL HOME VISITS
Recognizing the importance that a pastoral visit and community prayer can have in the healing process. We encourage a family member or friend to notify the Parish Office if a parishioner is being hospitalized. Hospitals can no longer notify the parish due to privacy concerns.
GRIEF CARD MINISTRY
This is a team of parishioners who provide aftercare to the bereaved through the first year of bereavement. They pray for those grieving, send cards, call and occasionally make visits, if requested.
FUNERALS
The community of St. Thomas Aquinas offers loving support to families experiencing grief after the loss of a loved one. All aspects of the funeral, including a wake service, funeral liturgy, burial, and lunch are planned with the family and the Pastoral Minister.
FUNERAL LUNCHEON COMMITTEE
The compassionate outreach to family and friends at the time of the funeral means a great deal. The Funeral Luncheon Committee & volunteers serve a catered meal for the family and friends of the deceased.
MOTHER’S DAY COLLECTION
An annual collection sponsored by the Pastoral Care & Wellness Commission. We will collect baby items around Mother’s Day to distribute to Total Life Care in Hastings.
